The Municipality of Majdanpek

The Municipality of Majdanpek is located in the east part of the country, at the slopes of The Southern Carpathians, in the Danube watercourse. With 932km2 altitude, it has 23.704 residents in two towns: Majdanpek, the administrative capital and Donji Milanovac, as well as 12 rural settlements: Debeli Lug, Leskovo, Jasikovo, Vlaole, Rudna Glava, Crnajka, Klokocevac, Topolnica, Mosna, Golubinje, Miroc i Boljetin.

The Municipality of Majdanpek adjoins Bor, Negotin, Kladovo, Golubac, Kucevo and Zagubica, and in the north, it adjoins Romania. It has a mostly highland relief. The climate is mostly continental.

Various protected natural objects can be found here: Nacionalni Park Djerdap (Djerdap National Park), Rajkova Pecina (Rajko`s Cave), Beli Izvorac, Valja Prerast (Plain Natural Bridge), as well as protected cultural monuments: archeological site Lepenski Vir (Lepen Whirl), archeo-metallic locality Rudina Glava (Ore Head), the Church of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul, Saint Nicola`s Church, Captain Misa`s Mansion and Tenkina Kuca (House).
